About Darren
Mr. Smart developed Parkland’s electric vehicle strategy and leads the expansion of its EV charging business, On The Run Charging, in Canada.
Mr. Smart joined Parkland as Director, Corporate Development in 2014 and has served in a variety of senior leadership positions including Senior Vice President, Energy Transition & Corporate Development, Senior Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development, and interim Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. Smart was a Portfolio Manager at Teachers’ Private Capital, the private equity arm of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
Mr. Smart has served as a director of several private companies, graduated with distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
